DON'S 503 (AND 447) HEATER PLANS AND OVER 30 GREAT CHALLENGER "MODS"
The 503 Challenger heater plans will cost you less than $25.00 to build. The heater is efficient, weatherproof, 4" in diameter, easily installed, features perfect venting, one moving part, and a hidden push-pull locking control for exact heat demand.
It can be mounted so as not to interfere with spark plugs, so it can be left on all year!
It is necessary to lower the engine compartment top ribs. Some have done this by removing the top rib and placing it right at the bottom of the rear vertical tube (almost level with the inside top longitudinal stringer.) This will facilitate adding an excellent luggage compartment, if so desired, found in the "mod" sheets enclosed!
A template is included which allows you to cut the heater tube so that it can be mounted over the cowling such that it won't interfere with the spark plugs.
